Much of our history remains buried; fortunately, our passion as detectorists is to bring that history to the light of day. Each new find allows us to pause and reflect upon the circumstances in which it was lost. Take, for example, this Pillbox found in a neighbor's yard. It has a patent date of 7-1-24 and contained a 1929 penny as well as remnants of an undetermined drug. What events precipitated its loss? What efforts did the owner undertake to recover it? The possibilities are limited only by the imagination.
